"Birds of the South - First Edition" - Collection Giclée
Native Birds by a Native Son
Born in Atlanta, "the city in the trees," and raised by a family of Southern artists, Stephen Key is a self-taught painter. The Birds of the South series, Vol. 1, features 12 birds indigenous to the Southeaster United States. In addition to the original works, we are also excited to offer a first edition run of 100 archival giclees collecting all the birds, signed and numbered by the artist, as a separate purchase. (Frame not included.)
Stephen's work has been displayed in notable galleries in Atlanta, New York City, Brooklyn and Brisbane, Australia.
The birds displayed in the first edition:
- American Goldfinch
- American Robin
- Brown Thrasher
- Cedar Waxwing
- European Starling
- Indigo Bunting
- Northern Flicker
- Pileated Woodpecker
Drawing has always been with me, painting came later and animation came after that. Change and transformation is not an enemy to a creative person, and so when it is time, I welcome new ideas and outcomes. I have guarded closely the innocence of my self-taught hand, and trust in my instincts and what pleases my eye. Creating helps to clarify what is inside. I hope you enjoy.
Each print is archival giclee on acid-free museum quality rag.
The attention to detail in color-matching and quality of materials gives you a reproduction that is hard to discern from an original.
Print measures 18" x 24"
